First of all - Side Folk is made of soft, melancholic folk rock/pop, which somehow doesn't follow exactly the Anglo-Saxon standards for the genre, which could have made these songs awful. Even if you turned off the vocals, it would probably still not sound like American or even worse - British psychedelic folk bands.
The Side Rock (with some exceptions in the end, which should rather end up on Side Folk) is made of pretty cool hard rock/heavy psych jams. It just sounds like the band couldn't have decided which style they wanted to play, but overall it sounds very coherent. Solid album!
